The fives game is about combining cards to add them. You can combine "2" with a "3" to make "5". After that, cards of 5 or higher can only be combined with their matching doubles. E.g. A "5" can only be combined wih another "5" to make "10". A "10" can only be combined with another "10" to make "20" and so on. You can move the cards using the arrow keys to comibine cards. Every time you move, more cards will be added to your deck. If you don't combine enough cards the new cards will occupy every free slot leaving you with no moves and the game ends. On the top left there is a "next" box which will tell you which card is going to come next. Here are some strategies you can use to play better.
The scores are based on the number of combinations you have done. E.g. If you have a 40 card, you have done 4 combinations (2+3, 5+5 and 10+10, 20+20). The score for that card is calculated as 34 = 81. The same is done for all combined cards and the sum of the scores is the total score.
This game is really good for kids. It encourages not only math skills but also strategic planning to maximize your playtime before you run out of possible moves.
